Mandela Day is an annual international day to celebrate and honour the life and legacy of Nelson Mandela. It’s day of a Call to Action for individuals, communities and organisations to take time to reflect on Mandela’s values and principles and to make a positive impact in communities irrespective of race or colour of your skin. We are one people. 

The community is urged to set aside 67 minutes to take part in an activity that will honour the day. Campaigns aim to bring people together to fight poverty,  promote peace, reconciliation and cultural diversity according to Mandela’s beliefs.

Over the years we have run outreaches on Mandela day and extending the charitable acts under the theme: ‘ Make every day a Mandela day ‘, especially with some schools in Pretoria. The theme was not our original thought, it was given to us by the schools and we were very happy to work under it. We took some students in the community and from what they saw and got involved doing with us, they compiled a report back to the schools.
